Looking for recycling bins for your next event? There are several options available, including bin loan programs from local agencies, using temporary bins provided by waste haulers, or purchasing your own.
Renting Event Recycling Bins
Small events that need a limited number of bins may wish to borrow bins from local agencies. Several Twin Cities metro-area counties provide recycling bins for loan. Check with your city first, as city programs may be more conveniently-located. County bin loan programs in the Twin Cities metro area include:
Hennepin County has portable recycling containers available for recycling and organics (food waste and non-recyclable paper) collection at events. Up to 60 containers for recycling and 40 containers for organics recycling are available. The loan program is available to cities, community groups, non-profit organizations, businesses and others who wish to collect recycling at events held in Hennepin County. Program information is available on Hennepin County's website.
Borrow can and bottle recycling containers and organics containers for short-term events in Ramsey County. The containers are free of charge and can be picked up at the Environmental Health office in Maplewood. Program information is available on Ramsey County's website.
Washington County provides recycling containers on loan for small, single-day gatherings such as graduation parties, family reunions, weddings, block parties, and similar events. Program information is available on Washington County’s website.
