New Life for Old Products
Here are ideas for ways to reuse some very common household products:
Shoe Boxes
Consider the lowly shoe box or similar type boxes with a lid. Covered with leftover fabric, wrapping paper or contact paper they can serve as decorative storage boxes or gift boxes.
Paperboard Containers
Containers such as oatmeal boxes, covered with leftover wallpaper or borders, can become attractive canisters for your kitchen.
Plastic Coffee Canisters
These can be reused for food storage. A label or picture can indicate what is inside.
Empty Baby Wipe Containers
These could organize socks, scarves, hair accessories or jewelry, or store action figures or puzzle pieces.
Glass and Plastic Jars
Jars make great storage containers. They can be decorated with glass paint or labels.
Plastic Net Produce Bags
These bags can be put together to become a handy scrubber for your cleaning needs. First, remove all tags, metal tabs, or knots. Stack three or four on top of each other, fold lengthwise,accordion-style, and tie in the middle with a rubber band or fishing line. Open up the folds and scrub away!
