Compost bins can be purchased at local garden centers, hardware stores, home improvement stores, or your county compost bin sale.


Anoka County

Carver County

Rain Barrels and Compost bins will be sold through the Recycling Association of Minnesota.

Dakota County

Compost bins are available for sale at the Dakota County Recycle Zone. These bins are available to all customers.

Ramsey County

To buy a compost bin or rain barrel, please visit Recycling Association of Minnesota for sale events.

Washington County

The Recycling Association of Minnesota (RAM) is selling compost bins and rain barrels this spring. Pick-up locations for pre-ordered bins and barrels include Cottage Grove Public Works on April 28 (9 a.m. - 12 Noon).  For more information or to order a compost bin or rain barrel, go to www.recycleminnesota.org.

Neighborhood Composting
Some neighborhoods in the metro area have started neighborhood compost sites . Ask if your neighborhood has a program, or consider starting one.
