The Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board (“SWMCB”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting online users' privacy. We believe that protection of personal privacy on the Internet is our responsibility, to assure citizen confidence, increase participation in online activities and support effective delivery of services. At (the “Website”), we intend to give you as much control as possible over your personal information. The following is the privacy policy for the Website.

No personally identifiable information is collected about visitors who simply browse this website or who download information from it. We do not sell any of the information we collect for any purpose.

You may receive emails, newsletter or other communications from us if you opt to receive those emails, newsletters or communications on the Website.  We may send those emails, newsletters or other communications directly to you or we may use a third party service provider, such as MailChimp or another service provider, to send these emails, newsletters or other communications to you. You should follow the procedures provided by MailChimp or the applicable third party service provider if at any time you would like to opt out of receiving those emails, newsletters or other communications.  

The Website provides links to other websites. These may include links to websites operated by other government agencies, nonprofit organizations and/or private businesses. This is done as a public service, SWMCB does not endorse nor is it responsible for the content of external sites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Website. When you link to any other website, you are subject to the privacy policy of that website. Visitors linking to another website are encouraged to examine the privacy policy of that website.

To prevent unauthorized access, promote data security, and encourage appropriate use of information, we use a variety of tools to assist in the protection of your information. You should note, however, that “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet.  Third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications.  You should not expect that your personal information will remain private.

SWMCB is concerned about the safety and privacy of children who use the Internet.  Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request Personal Information from anyone less than 13 years of age without prior verifiable parental consent.  If you become aware that your child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal information without prior verifiable parental consent, please contact us using the information provided below and we will use our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our files.

We may amend this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the amended terms on the Websites.  In the event of amendment, all terms shall become effective immediately upon posting to the Website.
