Twelve youth participated in the summer Kid’s Gardening Project where they learned about the value of composting and how to build a compost bin.  100 people attended an end of summer celebration, where they learned about composting. Sixty people participated in a “Second-Hand Showcase” event, complete with a fashion show and exhibits by area thrift stores.  3,000 copies of the St. Paul Secondhand Store Directory were created and distributed, with information printed in English, Spanish, Hmong and Somali. 16,000 residents in St. Paul received information about how to reduce unwanted junk mail through articles in the North End News and Frogtown Times.  Information was printed in eight editions, twice each in English, Hmong, Spanish and Somali.
