Information on waste reduction was translated into Somali, printed, and distributed. Information was also shared verbally at two community meetings. Ten volunteers were trained to assist with outreach activities. 1,000 people received written and/or verbal information through these presentations. 400 information packets are being distributed at the Immigrant Resource Center where immigrants go to receive work permits and references for shelter, food, and employment. Information on waste was also shared with 40 Somali business owners at two Somali “malls” and an additional 1,000 packets were left for distribution at the businesses.
