Slavic Community Center
Information on toxicity reduction was translated into Russian and reproduced in several ways. 200 information sheets were distributed at a multi-cultural sports event. A radio program reaching 800 listeners aired a segment about toxicity reduction. An article was published in the North Star Russian language newspaper, with a circulation of 8,500. The Slavic Community Center is concerned that many Russian immigrants face barriers to proper disposal of toxic materials, including lack of transportation to HHW sites, that they could not overcome with their project. They will continue discussing these issues with their community.
