New Earth Partnership

New Earth Partnership is a network of faith communities throughout the metro area. This project assessed church and member use and disposal of product packaging and created three replicable workshops. The workshop materials have been distributed to 20 interested congregations. The three types of workshops include an adult forum on reducing household waste, a field trip to a waste management facility, and a hands-on workshop on composting including building compost bins. The instructions for presenting the workshops are fully developed so any of the three workshops can be conducted by almost anyone. Over 200 people participated in a waste reduction workshop, many of these building compost bins and taking other steps to reduce waste. The New Earth Partnership helped contribute to the development of Congregations Caring for Creation http://www.c3mn.net/.
