Little Earth Residents Association

This project contributed to Little Earth of United Tribes Housing Corporation's mission to "provide members of the American Indian Community the opportunity to live cooperatively together in attractive and affordable homes." Little Earth trained ten youth in waste/toxicity reduction, recycling, and public speaking. Each youth visited households to present information on waste and toxicity reduction. 171 presentations were made and these households also received a care package, including safer cleaning product ingredients, junk mail postcards, HHW information, and numerous other waste reduction educational fliers. Households also completed surveys to help measure current behavior that will be compared with future changes in behavior. Hennepin County staff presented a training for 20 housing management company staff on environmentally friendly pest control and how to discard HHW.
