Fifty-one students were challenged to complete a Rethink Recycling curriculum booklet, which was created by staff. The booklet covered topics such as: reducing waste, recycling, and hazardous household wastes. Students were encouraged to use the internet to pre-screen Community POWER and Eureka Recycling websites to get the facts needed to complete the booklet. Vern Xiong worked with them to answer the questions and understand the importance of waste reduction, recycling, removing hazardous household wastes and created a video. With the assistance of Kia Kerher, 27 students completed ReCreate Art projects based on the concept of recycling old goods into new products. The work on the curriculum booklet and projects were completed during the spring and summer.
