Hmong American Partnership
150 adult English learners (primarily recent immigrants) who come to HAP for classes learned about waste and toxicity reduction as part of their regular curriculum. The students also took field trips to a waste facility and observed the waste management systems at the State Fair. Finally, they prepared and tested non-toxic cleaners at the school. The students then made presentations and wrote articles about what they learned in English and their native languages and submitted the articles to community newspapers for publication.
