ABC League of Women Voters
Two staff and 22 volunteers put together an eye-catching booth and presentation called “Bee Safe,” focused on how families with children can reduce chemicals in the home and how to dispose of them properly. The staff and volunteers participated in 21 community events, reaching 1000 people with their messages and information. The presentation focused on both teaching children to be careful around household chemicals and providing information for parents. Typical groups and events that received the information included 4-H clubs, ECFE parenting classes, Anoka County Fair-goers, etc. A presentation on this project will be made at the statewide League of Women Voters convention in 2005.
