Printer & Toner Cartridges

Printer & Toner Cartridges
Recyclable

Many printer and toner cartridges can be cleaned, refilled or remanufactured. Offering substantial savings over buying new supplies, this practice extends the life of cartridges for laser and ink jet printers as well as copy machines. Similarly, printer ribbons can be re-inked. Many manufacturers facilitate returning empties by providing labels and packaging. Typically, digital copy machines accept remanufactured cartridges whereas analog equipment may not; check with your supplier.

Disposal Information

To find a service in your area, ask your supplier or see your local phone directory under "Office Supplies," "Computer-Supplies and Parts," or "Copy Machine and Supplies." Search the Internet for "toner cartridge recycling" or "printer cartridge recycling."

Businesses can recycle used laser and inkjet printer cartridges at no charge by contacting Minnesota Waste Wise at 800-821-2230.
