The preferred method of managing drums and pails is to use returnable containers - ask your vendor for options.
Some non-returnable containers may be reconditioned or recycled.
Typically, the containers should be empty - nothing pourable or
pumpable should remain. Containers that held certain types of hazardous
materials (such as pesticides or insecticides) must be triple rinsed
with an appropriate solvent. The rinsate must either be properly used
or disposed as a hazardous waste.
Drums & Pails Reconditioning Services
The following businesses recondition and/or recycle drums and pails. Unless otherwise noted, they accept only non-hazardous containers. Acceptable container sizes and types vary; call for more details. For more recycling options, see Plastics and Scrap Metal Processors.
