Document Destruction Service
Recyclable
Paper shredded for business or consumer privacy needs can be recycled.
Since the early 2000s, new privacy standards in federal law have required some businesses to perform document destruction. Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), some businesses must destroy documents in order to protect patient privacy. For more information on HIPAA, visit the Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights web site.
Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), all businesses must properly dispose of consumer information. For document destruction requirements, visit the Federal Trade Commission web site and search under "FACTA."
