Disposal Information
Antifreeze
Minnesota Statutes §115A.916 prohibits antifreeze from being placed on land or with solid waste. Improper disposal of antifreeze can harm vegetation and pollute water supplies.Businesses are encouraged to recycle their waste antifreeze. See the tablebelow for businesses that recycle antifreeze.
Businesses that generate 600 gallons or more of waste antifreeze per year (50 gallons per month on average) may not discharge it into a sanitary sewer system. Discharge of smaller amounts requires permission from the Sewer Authority. Never place antifreeze in a septic system or storm drain.
For other discharge requirements, call your county environmental office.
