Last night, WCCO's Good Question asked "What Happens to Old TVs?"  Jason DeRusha, the show's host, talked with our own Angie Timmons (Hennepin County).  You can read the article and see the video at the link below. Check it out!

Good Question: What Happens to Old TVs
WCCO, Minneapolis, MN 6/11/09

Angie will also be on Showcase Minnesota (KARE-11 TV) today! We'll post that when we have the link.

And if you have a TV (or old cell phones, computers, etc.) that you need to get rid of, visit our electronics page to learn about all your options.

Reuse first, and then recycle

I hope that reuse options are also being utilized for unwanted TVs that are in good condition. The internet makes it so easy to give away items for free now that we have resources like twincitiesfreemarket.org, freecycle.org, and the free section of craigslist.com. I think people often forget that recycling is the 3rd option in the REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE hierarchy. Nonetheless, I'm gad to hear that free options for TV recycling are out there!
