Do You Pre-Cycle?

Posted August 5th, 2009 by Rethink Recycling
Star Tribune blogger Kim Carlson was "feeling virtuous" about her recycling, until she learned that she can do so much more. She visited our site and read some facts on how important waste reduction is in our recycling efforts. In her blog she explores how we all can work to reduce the waste we create by "pre-cycling". She has some great ideas--you can read her blog by clicking here

Pre-Cycling makes sense

Why doesn't everyone pre-cycle/reduce? Afterall the 3Rs are Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce is first on the list. But don't forget to reuse and recycle too.

Spread the word about Pre-Cycling!

I'm really glad this is getting some coverage. People have become so consumed with recycling that they forget about reduction. Reycling has definately gone mainstream, it's about time waste reduction does as well. Waste reduction means making a lifestyle change, which is scary to many. But Kim's ideas are simple and show how easy it really can be!

Everyone is doing it

I loved going down Kim's list and making a mental check of all the suggestions I'm already following. What's so great is that many of the changes were so simple I've been doing them for a long time and never even notice the difference. Wondering who these people are that are still buying paper towels?? Most ways to reduce save me money, too, which is always a good thing. It was good to get some new tips on things to try.
